Establishing Connection with Holo.Server

  1. Open the Holo.Pen app. You can effortlessly connect to any Holo.Server in your local network from the first screen.
  2. Use the toggle filter at the top of the screen, which includes options such as “All,” “Online,” and “Favorites,” to filter the list of available devices.
  3. The list of devices displays both auto-discovered devices and those manually added by the user.
  4. Auto-discovery simplifies the connection process by automatically detecting devices on your local network and placing them into the list.
  5. To manually add a device to the list, click the add button. This opens a dialog where you can enter details such as Device Name and IP Address.

Choosing Display

After successfully establishing a connection to the Holo.Server, the next step is to select the appropriate display one wants to share, paint on, or control.

This straightforward process involves a simple one-click action. Here’s how:

  1. With the Holo.Pen open and connect to the Holo.Server, a screen will display all available displays from the connected device.
  2. Each screen is represented as a preview image, allowing for easy visual identification.
  3. To proceed, simply click on the preview image of the desired display.
  4. With the appropriate display selected, Holo.Pen is ready for seamless sharing, painting, and control on the remote device.

Here’s how:

With Holo.Pen connected, click the menu button on the dock (three dots icon) and select “Customize Actions.” Use the virtual keyboard to assign desired shortcuts to the buttons. For the Virtual Ring, configure shortcuts for left and right rotations—ideal for adjusting brush size, opacity, or other tool settings. These customizable features streamline your creative process, providing efficient and seamless control for your tasks.

Changing Dock Position

Holo.Pen allows you to customize the dock position on your screen to best suit your workflow.

Here’s how:

With Holo.Pen open, click the menu button on the dock (three dots icon) and select “Change Position.” The app will display potential positions for the dock: top, left, bottom, right, and minimized versions in each corner. Selecting a minimized corner position will reduce the dock’s size, saving valuable screen space while keeping it accessible.

Show / Hide Mouse Cursor

Toggle the visibility of the mouse cursor on your screen, providing a cleaner workspace when needed.

Pen Only Mode

Activate Pen Only Mode to ensure that only pen inputs are recognized, ignoring touch inputs for more precise control.

Lock Rotation

Lock the screen orientation to prevent unwanted rotation, ensuring a stable and consistent workspace during your creative process.

Canvas Mode

Switch to Canvas Mode to use a blank screen on your iPad for drawing, reducing potential distractions from the desktop.

Configuring Holo.Pen

On the main screen of the Holo.Pen app, the Settings section features options to customize the Holo.Pen.

  • Language: Choose application language from the available options.
  • Clock Format: Select either the 12-hour or 24-hour clock format.
  • Timeout: Adjust a network operation timeout value in seconds.
  • Default TCP Port: Set the default application port.
